Four-Day Summer Institute for School District Deputy Superintendents

Monday, July 31 - Thursday, August 3, 2023 | 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM | Location: 2600 Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Blvd., Suite MB, New York, NY 10039 (use 150th Street entrance)

The institute takes participants through a series of learning that will help them understand the attributes that are best utilized to work with others as a form of motivational support. The sessions will then ensure participants learn and practice strategies for identifying and addressing gaps that exist in districts and schools that also impede improvements. The participants will consider the district and school staff they must work with based on the identified gaps and create school year plans that will guide their work.

  • Day 1: Understanding intra- and inter-personal skills and practices that help middle management thrive

  • Day 2: Assessing the perception-reality gaps existing across all schools in the district

  • Day 3: Supporting horizontally and vertically to create seamless communication and commitments to excellence

  • Day 4: Creating plans for addressing the district’s and school-level needs for support

Breakfast and lunch will be provided for each day of the institute.
