Three-Day Summer Institute for Assistant Principals
Monday, July 24 - Wednesday, July 26, 2023 | 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM | Location: 2600 Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Blvd., Suite MB, New York, NY 10039 (use 150th Street entrance)
Participants will learn about the concept of change and how to anticipate the response to requested changes in behaviors and increased students’ achievement. They will learn about adult development as it pertains to changing behavior and improvement. Additionally, the participants will engage with case studies that help them develop strategies for crucial conversations and writing observations and communications that lead to improved practices and student achievement.
Day 1: Understanding how change takes place in schools and anticipating the responses to change.
Day 2: Identifying and developing strategies for crucial conversations with staff, students, and families.
Day 3: Writing effective communications, classroom observations, and plans for school staff.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided for each day of the institute.
