Natalie Jackson

 

Natalie Jackson is a lifelong educator who worked in education for over 26 years. Her expertise aligns with literacy pedagogy and curriculum development. She provides teacher team and individual teacher coaching and mentoring support.

Natalie worked as a teacher and literacy coach in several New York City districts. As a teacher, Natalie taught early childhood grades, providing instruction in all core subjects. As a teacher, she developed her expertise in special education and English as a New Language (ENL). As a reading recovery teacher, Natalie taught classroom teachers strategies for analyzing and responding to students’ data. Natalie also has experience with teaching the E.D. Hirsch’s Core Curriculum and Reading Reform programs. Furthermore, she received extensive training in the Teachers College Reading and Writing Project approach to literacy instruction. Her work with TCRWP included supporting teachers’ reflective practices, assessing students’ reading levels, writing standards-based units of study, providing feedback to teachers, and guiding teachers’ efforts of analyzing students’ work. Her school experience includes 8th-grade English teacher, gift and talented testing coordinator, and testing administrator.

Natalie has worked as a United States Department of Education Peer Reviewer for Arts in Education, Parent Information Resource, and Transition to Teaching. She is currently a Universal Pre-Kindergarten proposal evaluator.

Natalie earned certifications in American Montessori, Reading Recovery, New York State Teaching Nursery-6, School Building and District Leadership, and holds New York City licenses in Early Childhood, Common Branches, and School Leadership.
